The class of men recruited renders it impossible

to require them to wear cast off clothing, as is done in the

Police Force with Chinese and Indians.

11.

Having regard to the changing nature of the British

Community, the Committee note that since the re-organization

of the Corps 299 men have passed through the ranks, the present

strength is 175.

12.

The Committee are of opinion that the Grants and

allowances to the Corps should be assimilated so as to more

nearly accord with the Regulations for the Volunteer Force in

· Great Britain.
